Change Ctrl+Enter Behavior in Firefox

Did you ever observe that when you enter ‘google’ in the address bar and press ‘Ctrl+Enter’, Firefox takes you to ‘www.google.com

You can change this default setting and instruct Firefox to take you to ‘www.google.co.in’ when you hit ‘Ctrl+Enter’.

Open ‘Firefox’
Type ‘about:config’ in the address bar and hit ‘Enter’
Enter ‘browser.fixup’ in Filter.
The following values are related to the setting. Right click on the values to modify.

browser.fixup.alternate.enabled – You can use this to turn the Ctrl+Enter behavior off entirely.
browser.fixup.alternate.prefix – This value sets the prefix assigned before the keyword you type.
browser.fixup.alternate.suffix – This value sets what is assigned after the keyword. For instance, you could use this to change the default suffix to your country code, like ‘.co.in’

Enable or Modify password for user accounts

I have listed down simple steps to enable or modify password for user accounts on Windows XP.

You have to be logged in as an administrator.
Goto ’Start–>Control Panel–>User Accounts’
Click on the account for which you have to set/modify password.
Click on ‘Change my password’.
Type your current password in the first field. If you do not have a password for this account, leave it blank.
Enter password in ‘Type a new password’ field.
Re-enter your password in ‘Type the new password again to confirm’ field.
The fourth field is optional. Enter some hint for your password.
Hit on ‘Change Password’ button and your password is changed.
Close the User Accounts window.
