Any licensed version of photo editing software will cost at least $200. But there is no point in spending so much when you can do it for free.  pixlr is a real good online image editor which offers you a similar look of the Adobe Photoshop interface and gives you almost similar features too.

There is no need to download any software or install any script when you are in a need to edit a image. You can import the images from your PC or directly enter the URL to get started after which the image is shown in a default image sized canvas.

The following images formats can be opened using pixlr:
  • jpg
  • jpeg
  • png
  • gif
  • psd
  • pxd (pixlr image)
Images can be save in the following formats:
  • jpg
  • png
  • bmp
  • pxd (pixlr image)

It supports layers also. You get a variety of filters which you can use while editing your images. Blur, Sharpen, Noise, Scanlines, Halftone, Pixleate, Water swirl, Kaleidoscope, Old photo, Art poster, Emboss & Engrave. The tools panel available on the left and right side of the image canvas resemble photoshop completely with the image dimensions, layers properties, blur, magic wand tool, lasso tool, clone stamp tools offered.
