- Download apache from http://www.apache.org/
- Double click on the exe file to start installation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Enter network domain, server name and administrator’s email address when asked for. (These information are not relevant to the functioning of the server till it is hosted locally But make sure they are not left empty)
- Make sure to select the radio button (for all users, on port 80) before continuing further.
- Select ‘Custom’ under setup type.
- You can change the directory where it has to be installed.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- After the installation, open a web browser and type ‘http://localhost’ and press enter. If you do not see any error message in the browser, then the apache installation was successful.
