Sometimes you find the program’s name in the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ list eventhough the progam has been removed from the computer. This may be due to an error while un-installing or you may have deleted the folder instead of uninstalling it. If you wish to remove any program’s link from the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ list, follow the below mentioned steps:
- Goto ‘Start–>Run’
- Enter ‘regedit’ and press enter to open Regedit
- Navigate to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall‘
- Delete the folder corresponding to the program you wish to remove from the list.
- You will be asked to confirm. Click ‘Yes’.
- Link to the program has been removed from ‘Add or Remove Programs’ list. Close Regedit.
Note:
- It has been tested to work on Windows XP.
- If some one has tried it on Windows Vista and has worked, then please send us an email.
