It is always an issue when you want to temporarily share some file or want to play games between multiple computers. To resolve the same you can create ad-hoc computer to computer network for laptops.
Steps to create a network between multiple laptops without a LAN cable in windows 7:
- Turn on Wi-Fi in laptop
- Open Network and Sharing center
- Click on “Setup a new connection or network”
- Select the option “Setup a wireless ad hoc (computer to computer) network”
- click next
- again click next
- Give unique network name
- Select “No Authentication” in security type
- Click next
- Your network is ready to use.
Now start the wi-fi of the another XP, Vista, Windows 7 OS computers and check for the available networks and you will be able to see the name of the connection created above. click on the connect and you are ready to use the ad-hoc network b/w multiple computers for gaming, sharing and other work.
ISSUES:
Only catch is this happens only when the network is created by a Vista or Windows 7 OS. If you create the network using XP then it may not work. network created using windows 7 or vista can be joined by all OS.
