The current version of Kaspersky Internet Security does not allow users to activate license using key file. It can be only activated using activation code Internet, so it is a drawback for those who wish to activate it offline. However there is a trick by which you can activate the license offline using the key file.
You would have received the key file from Kaspersky in your mailbox. Unzip the file before activating the license. If you do not have the key file, visit activation.kaspersky.com and generate the key file.

Disconnect from the internet

Open your Kaspersky Internet Security license manager

Click on “Activate new license” and enter the the license key when prompted.

Click Next. You will get a dialog box as shown below, click Ok on it

Click on Browse and open your key file.

Click Next and the activation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 is done.
