Hoping to offer a solution to the strenuous sorting process that most of us face daily, Gmail has come up with Priority Inbox – a way to have your mail sorted in a way that reduces the time spent in ploughing through it all. As with any Gmail addition, it is in Beta
Priority Inbox splits your inbox into three sections – the most important mails that are unopened end up in the topmost section to grab your attention. The next section contains mails that you decide to mark as important. The third section contains mails which are considered the least important. However, if a mail which is important ends up in this section, you can simply mark it to push it to the upper sections.
All this is in addition to the filtering already present in Gmail. The sorting mechanism for this seems to work in a way similar to the one that sorts your regular mail from junk – and knowing Gmail, this may be a good thing.
The feature has not been offered to all the users yet but Gmail has declared that it will be provided to everyone by the end of the week.
