Enable/Disable ‘System Restore’ – WinXP

The following steps will guide you to enable or disable system restore in Windows XP.

  • Goto ‘Start–>Control Panel’.
  • Click on ‘Switch to Classic View’ if you are in that mode.
  • win-xp-restore1Find and double click on ‘System’ to open ‘System Properties’.
  • Click on ‘System Restore’ tab.
  • win-xp-restore2Check ‘Turn off system restore on all drive’ to disable ‘System Restore’.
  • UnCheck ‘Turn off system restore on all drive’ to enable ‘System Restore’.
  • Click on ‘OK’ to save changes.
  • Windows XP will prompt for your confirmation.
  • Click on ‘Yes’ to save changes.
  • Restart the system.
