The following steps will guide you to enable or disable system restore in Windows XP.
- Goto ‘Start–>Control Panel’.
- Click on ‘Switch to Classic View’ if you are in that mode.
Find and double click on ‘System’ to open ‘System Properties’.- Click on ‘System Restore’ tab.

Check ‘Turn off system restore on all drive’ to disable ‘System Restore’. - UnCheck ‘Turn off system restore on all drive’ to enable ‘System Restore’.
- Click on ‘OK’ to save changes.
- Windows XP will prompt for your confirmation.
- Click on ‘Yes’ to save changes.
- Restart the system.
