I have listed down simple steps to enable or modify password for user accounts on Windows XP.
- You have to be logged in as an administrator.
- Goto ’Start–>Control Panel–>User Accounts’
- Click on the account for which you have to set/modify password.
- Click on ‘Change my password’.
- Type your current password in the first field. If you do not have a password for this account, leave it blank.
- Enter password in ‘Type a new password’ field.
- Re-enter your password in ‘Type the new password again to confirm’ field.
- The fourth field is optional. Enter some hint for your password.
- Hit on ‘Change Password’ button and your password is changed.
- Close the User Accounts window.
