Steps to Change DNS Settings on Windows Vista

  1. Select Control Panel from Start menu.
  2. Click on ‘View network status tasks’.

  3. Click on ‘View Status’.

  4. Click on ‘Properties’ button.

  5. Windows Vista may ask for your permission. If asked, click on ‘Continue’ button.

  6. Select ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’ and click the ‘Properties’ button.

  7. Click the radio button ‘Use the following DNS server addresses’

  8. Enter the Preferred DNS server(e.g. 208.67.222.222 ) and Alternate DNS server(e.g. 208.67.220.220) details.
  9. Click the OK button, then the Close button, and the Close button again. Close the Network and Sharing Center window.
