According to unconfirmed sources, Notion Ink’s Adam will be available for pre-order from 9-Dec-2010.

Expectations are running high among all gadget lovers as Adam which is seen as a genuine threat to iPad is about to be born. Its a good news especially for Indian consumers who have historically been neglected and discriminated by Apple. The biggest question now is “Can Adam be an iPad of India?”

The new technology called NETRA (Near-Eye Tool for Refractive Assessment) uses a special device and software on mobile phone to diagnose eye prescription. The cost of special plastic device is around $1-$2 now which is believed to come down to few cents once it goes into mass production. This is a major technological breakthrough especially for people living in rural areas of developing countries like India where basic eye clinics are still distant away. • Visit http://www.logitech.com/touchmouse and download and install Touch Mouse Server on your laptop.
• Check your laptop’s ip and note it down. Generally it would be something like this 192.168.1.x if you are using a router to connect to the internet.
• Go to your iPhone or iPod Touch and make sure WiFi is switched on and you are connected to your router.
• Install Touch Mouse on your iPhone or iPod Touch from Apple Store(http://itunes.apple.com/app/touch-mouse/id338237450?mt=8)
• Start Touch Mouse on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
• Enter your laptop’s ip when prompted. From next time onwards it will not prompt you to enter ip if you connect to the same ip again.

  

• A screen like this will appear on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Move your finger on the screen and you will find the cursor moving on your laptop

  

• When you click on keyboard icon, a keyboard will pop up and you can use it to type on your laptop.

  

1. Add attachments by Drag and Drop

After a long wait Google had finally done which could have been done long time back. Now you can add Gmail attachment by just drag and drop in new mail you are composing just like you do in Outlook.

When you drag a file over the webpage a green area is highlighted where you can just drop the file and it gets attached.  Though this Drag and Drop feature for Gmail attachment at present works only in Google Chrome and Firefox, I hope for Internet Explorer it will be just around the corner.

2. Invitation

Organizing a Meeting has been made easier by Google by adding a small invitation button just below the Subject in the new mail. When you click it, a small window appears where meeting can be setup.

This works in sync with the Google calendar. When you edit the “To/Cc/Bcc” fields, calendar for the people if shared will appear. Looking at the google calendar of invitees you can see the availability and then decide the time accordingly. In the end when you send the email, the event gets added to your as well as friends calendar. Isn’t it cool?

Preparatory Steps

• Make sure you are running in administrator mode.
• Run the disk clean up wizard and delete everything that is shown on screen.
• Disable ‘System Restore’. (Click here to know)
• Disable ‘Pagefile’(Virtual Memory). (Click here to know)
• Disable ‘Hibernation’.  (Click here to know)
• Disable ‘kernel memory dump’. (Click here to know)
• Download ‘Perfect Disk’ and install it.
• Download ‘Auslogics Disk Defrag’ and install it.

I would suggest to first defragment the system using inbuilt software before continuing any further.

Diagnostic Steps

• Run ‘Auslogics Disk Defrag’ .
• Keep an eye on the screen. The yellow box is the MFT(Master File Table).
  
• MFT is the main reason for the limitation in shrinking the volume.

Shifting MFT is only possible when Windows is not accessing it. For that it should run before Windows Vista loads itself. In the following steps, we will try to shift the MFT. MFT may not shift to one end to enable you to shrink the entire free space. MFT shifts subsequently in each step. So you may have repeat shifting MFT unless you cannot do it any further.

Core Steps

1. Run ‘Perfect Disk’
2. Right Click on the desired drive and select ‘Drive Properties’.
   
3. Click on ‘Offline Defragmentation’.
4. Check on all the three options under defragmentation settings and click ‘OK’.
   
5. Restart the system.
6. Before Vista loads, you will notice a black screen with defragmentation going on.
7. After Vista loads itself, perform ‘Shrink Volume’ for whatever space is available.
8. Repeat the steps ’5 to 7′ and shrink the volume till it can be done.

After you are done with this do not forget to perform the following actions.
The following actions are only recommended, it is totally on user’s discretion.

• Enable ‘System Restore’. (Click here to know)

• Enable ‘Hibernation’. (Click here to know)
• Enable ‘kernel memory dump’. (Click here to know)
• Uninstall ‘Perfect Disk’.
• Uninstall ‘Auslogics Disk Defrag’.
