I recently bought a BSNL data card 3G broadband plan for Rs 3800. The data card bundled with it is Micromax MMX 300G card which can deliver up to 3.6 Mbps of speed. This is a High Speed download packet Access data card with the following features:
HSDPA (2100 MHz)
HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM
HSDPA – 3.6 Mbps
USB 2.0 Full speed
Internal Antenna
The cost of data card was high as compared to other india service providers like Tata Photon+ and Reliance NetConnect Broadband+. Still I chose to buy BSNL broadband due to its unique feature of compatibility with any other standard SIM card. What this means is that if you don’t want to use BSNL then you can use the SIM of any other company like Tata Indicom or Reliance Mobile. Other point is BSNL’s lower tariff plan. On top of all this I got 2 GB in day and 10 GB in night free for first 2 months. Following are the tariff details of as of April – 2010.
BSNL has opened franchise and now you need not go to BSNL office to get the services, so no long queues anymore.
